Dog Training in Central Minnesota

Each dog comes with its own unique personality, experiences and outlook. Dog training should be flexible enough to create a positive learning experience for each individual dog! We can help! Our private lessons bring you and your dog to one-on-one sessions with your trainer. Our small group lessons are small enough to give each dog the opportunity to learn!

Private Obedience Lessons

Private obedience lessons offer the flexibility to schedule when it works for you and your family, with all of the benefits of having one-on-one time with your trainer. We start where you and your dog are and build on it, working toward off leash obedience, treating agression, building confidence and more!

Private lessons cost $100 per 1 hour lesson and are typically scheduled 1 week apart or more.  

In 4 private lessons we will give you everything you need to have your dog off-leash, with distractions, completing these commands:

• • Recall (Come or Here)
  • Sit (and Stay in the Sit until released, including Extended Sit)
  • Down (and Stay in the Down until released, including Extended Down)
  • Place (come to you and Sit on an object, stay in the Place until released, including Extended Place)
  • Heel (stay at your side with a loose leash or off-leash)
  • Off (to stop any unwanted behaviors, such as jumping, growling, counter-surfing, excessive barking, etc)

 Advanced lessons are also available! 

Equipment is not included in the cost of the lessons. Some dogs may not need any equipment. Off Leash training would require an e-collar, which we have on hand, for $200. Some dogs may benefit from a prong collar, if they’re strong pullers, which we also have on hand for around $25-$30.

Small Group Classes

Our small group classes meet one hour per week for 6 weeks, typically on Monday or Thursday evenings. At class your dog learns how to focus on you with the distraction of up to 3 other dogs and their families, guest dogs and new environments!

During the 6-week course we will teach you how to work with your dog on more advanced obedience. This consists of loose leash walking and walking past people and other dogs. We practice longer stays in the sit, down and place, with more distractions. Puppies learn to come when called from further distances, and work on longer waits while you are out-of-sight. We also work on door and food manners, taking treats softly, greeting strangers and overall impulse control. We address behavior concerns as they appear, answer questions, and provide insight to your puppy’s behavior.

Our Fundamentals 2 class costs $250 for the 6-week course. See upcoming class dates using the link below!

Fundamentals 2 – Over 6 months old, follows AKC’s CGC (American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen) curriculum and the CGC test is optional on the final night of class!

Board & Train Programs

In our lessons and classes we teach YOU how to train your pup! During our board & train programs we do the heavy lifting for you, offering 2-Week or 3-Week options! Your pup comes home from training with a solid understanding of all of the basic commands, able to do them off leash (when safe) and with distractions. We visit dog friendly stores, downtown areas, parks and more during your dog’s stay!

  • Heel Command (off-leash, will come around the right side of your body and sit down right beside your left leg).

 We also offer a 3-Week Board & Train Program for dogs with more intensive behavior concerns. Ask us about it!

A 2-Week Board & Train is $2900 including the e-collar we use for off leash obedience. The 3-Week Board & Train is $4350.

Day Training Programs

Not sure you can be away from your pup for 2 to 3 weeks, but still want the benefits of a board & train program? Our Day Training might be the answer your family is looking for!

 Your pup comes to our facility daily for 5 consecutive days, dropped off between 7 am and 9 am and picked up between 6 pm and 8 pm. They stay at home with you each night! On day 6 you bring a well-rested pup back for a 90 minute session to learn everything they learned!

• Quick pick up each evening – 5 minute review of the day
• 90 minute training session on Day 6
• 6 Guaranteed Commands
  • Sit (Dog remains in position until released)
  • Down

  • Come on command (outside, off-leash, with distractions)
  • Place (Jump up and sit on any object you point to on command and stay there until released)

We also offer an advanced Day Training Program for dogs to visit downtown areas, dog friendly stores, parks, etc daily to continue their training. 

Our ON Leash 5-Day Training Program is $900. 

Our OFF Leash 5-Day Training Program is $1100. It includes the e-collar we train with. We cannot guarantee your dog will be ready to be off leash within 5 days, but you will have the foundations and tools in place to help them get there!
